About Explora
Explora was created from my desire to do what I love – teaching – while genuinely serving the needs I see in my community without sacrificing the natural joy and curiosity children are born with.
After years in traditional settings, I set out to design a calm, child-centered learning environment where children are truly known, learning is hands-on, and adults are not rushing or stressed. I am inspired by Montessori, Dewey, Vygotsky and Feynman. Families crave structured academics but also screen-free, mixed-aged learning with positive meaningful friendships.
It is a dream come true to offer thoughtfully designed, joyful learning experiences that allow children to truly belong.
I believe that children learn best through active engagement, social interaction, and reflection.
I value the natural curiosity and love of exploration children have. This is why I love to work with elementary age children who ask questions, take risks, and crave art filled experiences. My role as their guide is to take the teachings of people like Maria Montessori, John Dewey, Lev Vygotsky, and Richard Feynman and design a learning environment for the families in my community. I prioritize the child’s natural interests and a safe and joyful learning experience.
Students are given meaningful choice and hands-on materials in a carefully prepared environment (Montessori), while learning experiences are rooted in real-world projects that require doing, thinking, and revisiting ideas (Dewey). We intentionally design time for conversation, collaboration, and guided support so students can extend their understanding within a social context (Vygotsky). Finally, students are regularly asked to explain their thinking—through discussion, demonstration, or short reflections—because teaching others is a powerful way to deepen learning (Feynman).
